Years ago, in the tumultuous months after the Brexit Referendum, the promotion agency of a significant European city called me for a meeting to ask why should any financial services corporation in the United Kingdom move its administrative HQ to this non-British city, whose name I don\u2019t want to remember.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pitch was (I am sugarcoating it) horrible. As we pointed out at the end of the presentation, nothing you said is important for a banker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a widespread mistake, to try to lead up the garden path with tricks and non-business-related arguments,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We all want to stay in the right place at the right time, which is easier to say than to do because we never know when is going to be \u201cthe right time\u201d,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, our understanding indicates that it is advantageous to operate within a burgeoning market as opposed to one that is stagnant. We know that Latin America has a big population<\/strong>, a young population<\/strong>, yearning to learn and work and that is the perfect place to find talent aligned with the values of American and European corporates<\/a>, it is for most niches, the big new market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
